Bamberg County is a county located in the U.S. state of South Carolina. As of the 2010 census, the population was 15,987. The county seat is Bamberg. The county was created in 1897 from parts of Barnwell, Orangeburg, and Colleton counties.
Bamberg County is governed by a five-member County Council, elected from single-member districts. The County Council is responsible for setting policy and enacting laws and regulations. The County Council also appoints the County Administrator, who is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the county.
