How Canadian Business Records Work
Business records are Canada's most open category. Corporations Canada's federal database confirms any federally incorporated company free of charge, status, directors, and filings. Each province runs its own registry for provincially incorporated companies and business names.
Bankruptcies and insolvencies are searchable nationally through the Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy ($8 per search; large-company CCAA proceedings listed free). Securities filings for public companies are free on SEDAR+. The directory below links the federal, provincial, and regulatory sources.

Business registries and regulators
Each link opens the official registry, regulator or government page named. Regulatory colleges license and discipline their members.
