Douglas County is located in the southeastern corner of South Dakota and is the state's sixth-most populous county. The county seat is Armour, and the largest city is North Sioux City. As of the 2010 United States Census, the population was 3,003.
The county was created in 1873 and organized in 1875. It was named for Stephen A. Douglas, a U.S. Senator from Illinois.
