Sheriff & Law Enforcement. Jackson County Sheriff's Office is the primary law enforcement agency responsible for maintaining peace and order in Jackson County.
Police Departments. In addition to Jackson County Sheriff's Office, the city of McKee has its own police department responsible for law enforcement within city limits. The McKee Police Department works with the Sheriff's Office to handle local crimes and emergencies.
Law Enforcement & Arrests. Jackson County Sheriff's Office, headquartered at 97 Agent Orange Boulevard in McKee, Kentucky 40447, is the primary law enforcement agency for Jackson County's unincorporated areas and provides detention services. Municipal law enforcement within Jackson County is minimal given the small population centers, with McKee being the only incorporated city; most policing is handled by the Sheriff's Office and Kentucky State Police Post 7 in Richmond, which provides backup and investigates major crimes. Arrest records in Jackson County are public records under Kentucky's Open Records Act (KRS 61.870 to 61.884), which grants citizens the right to inspect and obtain copies of public records unless specifically exempted.
