Police Departments. In addition to Lewis County Sheriff's Office, law enforcement in Lewis County is provided by the Vanceburg Police Department.

Lewis County Sheriff's Office, headquartered in Vanceburg, Kentucky, is the primary law enforcement agency for Lewis County's unincorporated areas and provides countywide services including civil process, court security, and tax collection. Citizens can contact the Sheriff's Office at Lewis County Courthouse complex in Vanceburg for information regarding inmates, visitation schedules, and inmate account deposits.
