Sheriff & Law Enforcement. Mingo County Sheriff's Office is responsible for law enforcement in the unincorporated areas of Mingo County.
Police Departments. In addition to Mingo County Sheriff's Office, several municipal police departments serve Mingo County, including the Williamson Police Department and the Matewan Police Department. They often collaborate with the Sheriff's Office on major investigations and emergencies, making sure of full coverage and response throughout Mingo County.
Law Enforcement & Arrests. Mingo County Sheriff's Department, located at 75 East 2nd Avenue in Williamson, WV 25661, is the primary law enforcement agency for unincorporated areas of Mingo County.

Booking photos are kept by the agency that made the arrest, such as the state police or a town or city police department. Ask that agency for its record. Under W. Va. Code 62-1-6a a state, county or city law enforcement agency may not share on social media the booking photograph of a person arrested for a minor offense unless the person is convicted, is a fugitive or threat, or a court orders it, and it must take a posted booking photograph down within 14 days on request after a dismissal, no indictment or an acquittal. The Division of Corrections and Rehabilitation is not covered by that section.
