Normal, Illinois Public Records

Normal voters are served by the McLean County Clerk's Office - Election Authority Division, located at 104 West Front Street, Room 101, Bloomington, IL 61701 (phone: 309-888-5190, website: https://www.mcleancountyil.gov/272/County-Clerk and https://www.mcleancountyil.gov/elections). Illinois residents can register to vote online at https://ova.elections.il.gov through the Illinois State Board of Elections, by mail, or in person at the County Clerk's office, driver's license facilities, or designated government agencies. Online registration requires a valid Illinois driver's license or state ID. The voter registration deadline in Illinois is 16 days before an election for online and mail registration; grace period registration is available during early voting and on Election Day with proof of residency. Valid photo ID is not required to vote in Illinois, though first-time voters who registered by mail may need to show ID. Normal holds municipal elections for Mayor and Town Council in consolidated election years (odd-numbered years in April). The next Normal municipal election is scheduled for April 2025, with primary elections in February if needed. Normal operates under a council-manager government with a mayor and six council members.
