The state now offers same-day voter registration, meaning eligible residents can register right through Election Day. Applicants must be U.S. Citizens, at least 18 years old by Election Day, Michigan residents, and not currently incarcerated. Online registration requires a Michigan driver's license or state ID, though residents can also register in person at the township clerk's office, county clerk's office, Secretary of State branches, or designated voter registration agencies. Voter registration lists can be inspected and purchased for lawful purposes, though birth dates and driver's license numbers are redacted. Campaign finance disclosure reports for candidates and committees are searchable through the Michigan Secretary of State's database. Roughly half of the 38 Michigan Senate seats will also be contested, specifically those in even-numbered districts, since senators serve four-year terms. There is no U.S. Senate race in Michigan in 2026, as those seats are contested in 2024 and 2028. Jerome Township offices may also appear on the ballot.
