Sheriff & Law Enforcement. Northumberland County Sheriff's Office is responsible for maintaining law and order in Northumberland County's unincorporated areas.
Police Departments. In addition to Northumberland County Sheriff's Office, several municipal police departments operate within Northumberland County.
Law Enforcement & Arrests. Northumberland County Sheriff's Office, headquartered at Northumberland County Courthouse, 201 Market Street, Sunbury, PA 17801, provides law enforcement services including civil process, courthouse security, and warrant service.

The mine records hold 18 named mine sites inside the county, 13 of them worked out or abandoned; the old survey maps add 122 holes drawn inside the county, 66 of them shafts or tunnels. The minerals the records name are Clay; crushed stone; construction sand and gravel.
