Warren County is located in western Illinois, and is part of the Quad Cities metropolitan area. The county seat is Monmouth. The county was established in 1825.

Warren County is governed by a seven-member Board of Commissioners. The board is elected from seven districts within the county. The board is responsible for setting the county budget, levying taxes, and making policy decisions.

The county is home to the Warren County Historical Society, which operates a museum and archives in Monmouth. The county is also home to the Warren County Fair, which is held annually in August.
