Winona County is located in southeastern Minnesota and is part of the Rochester, MN-WI Metropolitan Statistical Area. As of the 2010 census, the population was 51,461. The county seat is Winona.
Winona County is governed by a five-member Board of Commissioners, elected at-large for four-year terms. The county is divided into five districts, each of which is represented by one commissioner. The board is responsible for setting county policy, approving the budget, and appointing department heads.
1. 1851 - Winona County is established.
