Texas residents can register online through the Texas Secretary of State at www.texas.gov or by submitting a paper application available from the Denton County elections office, public libraries, and most government offices. Applications must be postmarked or submitted at least 30 days before an election, with acceptable identification including a Texas driver's license or ID card number and proof of residency in Denton County. Municipal elections for the town are typically held in May of odd-numbered years for mayor and town council positions. Voters can locate their assigned polling place using the "Find My Polling Place" tool at www.votedenton.gov or by calling the Elections Office. Early voting locations and dates are published before each election, typically offering two weeks of early voting at multiple county locations. Under Texas law, certain election records are public, including voter registration lists (available for political purposes with restrictions on commercial use), campaign finance reports filed with the Texas Ethics Commission, candidate applications and filings, and precinct-level election results.
