Camden County is located in the U.S. state of New Jersey. It is part of the Delaware Valley area and is the county seat of Camden County. As of the 2019 Census estimate, the county had a population of 513,657, making it the state's 8th-most populous county. The county was formed on March 13, 1844, from portions of Gloucester County.

The county government is headed by a Board of Chosen Freeholders, which consists of seven members, each elected to three-year terms from each of the county's seven districts. The Freeholder Board sets policies for the operation of six administrative departments, 30 divisions and four offices, all of which provide services to the residents of Camden County.

The county is governed by the Camden County Board of Chosen Freeholders, whose members are elected at-large to serve three-year terms of office on a staggered basis, with either two or three seats coming up for election each year.
