Overview
Manitoba's cities, towns and rural municipalities run under the Municipal Act, with Winnipeg under its own City of Winnipeg Charter, and each publishes its council agendas and minutes, bylaws and permit records. The links on this page go to the official municipal websites. Winnipeg's open data portal and its assessment and taxation search show the assessed value, the property class and the tax status of any address in the city.
Outside Winnipeg, Manitoba Assessment Online, run by the province, shows the assessed value of every property in the other municipalities, and the land title with the owner's name is held by the Property Registry.

What Manitoba municipalities publish online
Council meetings are open by law and municipalities post agendas, minutes and bylaws. Building and development permits are public once issued. The provincial assessment search covers every municipality except Winnipeg, which runs its own, and both show values without the owner's name. The Association of Manitoba Municipalities lists every municipality with its office and elected officials, and Manitoba Municipal and Northern Relations publishes the municipal directory and the financial statements each municipality files.

Requesting records from Manitoba municipalities
A record not on the website is requested from the municipal office, and a formal request goes under the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, with a 30 day response time and a complaint to the Manitoba Ombudsman if refused. The land title, which names the owner, is searched through the Property Registry for a fee, and the corporate registry is at the Companies Office.
