Lincoln County is located in the south-central part of New Mexico. It is the fifth-largest county in the state, with an area of 6,937 square miles. As of the 2010 census, the population was 20,497. The county seat is Carrizozo.
The county is named after Abraham Lincoln, the 16th President of the United States.
