Sheriff & Law Enforcement. San Juan County Sheriff's Office is responsible for law enforcement in the unincorporated areas of San Juan County.
Police Departments. San Juan County is served by several law enforcement agencies, including San Juan County Sheriff's Office and municipal police departments.
Law Enforcement & Arrests. San Juan County Sheriff's Office, headquartered at 100 South Oliver Drive, Aztec, NM 87410, provides law enforcement services to unincorporated areas of San Juan County. San Juan County Adult Detention Center, located at 4275 County Road 5500 in Farmington, houses inmates for San Juan County and can be contacted for Inmate information and booking rosters can be accessed through the Sheriff's Office website or by calling the detention center directly.
Arrest Records. They are maintained by the arresting agency, primarily the County Sheriff's Office and municipal police departments.

The mine records hold 166 named mine sites inside the county, 85 of them worked out or abandoned; the old survey maps add 204 holes drawn inside the county, 89 of them shafts or tunnels. The minerals the records name are Uranium; construction sand and gravel; Gold; Sand and Gravel, Construction.
A point in either file is a location, not a property line: the sheet shows the opening on the surface, not the rooms under it. The record that shows what runs under a parcel is the mine map. The OSMRE National Mine Map Repository holds scanned underground mine maps and answers requests for a named mine or an area.

Booking photos are kept by the agency that made the arrest, such as the San Juan County Sheriff's Office or a city police department in San Juan County. Ask that agency for its record.

Send a notarized DPS Authorization for Release of Information form with a money order or cashier's check payable to the Department of Public Safety to see your own arrest record (Section 29-10-6(A) of the Arrest Record Information Act). Register with the county clerk or through the New Mexico Secretary of State. You can also register online with the state online registration. Voter registration closes 28 days before an election (Section 1-4-8 NMSA 1978); same day registration is available in person at an early voting or Election Day polling location.
Deeds and other recorded land documents in San Juan County are kept by the San Juan County clerk. Property values are set by the county assessor, and tax bills come from the county treasurer. Source: official state page.

Many New Mexico Public Health Offices offer Vital Records services and can issue birth certificates; death certificates must be ordered through the Santa Fe office.
