Simpson County Sheriff's Office is the primary law enforcement agency for unincorporated areas of Simpson County, Kentucky, with headquarters located at 204 North College Street in Franklin. Within Simpson County, the City of Franklin operates the Franklin Police Department, which has jurisdiction within city limits and maintains its headquarters at 201 South Main Street, providing patrol services, criminal investigations, and traffic enforcement. Arrest records in Simpson County are considered public information under Kentucky Open Records Act, KRS 61.870 to 61.884, which mandates that public agencies provide access to most non-exempt records within three business days of a written request.
