Online registration requires a valid Missouri driver's license or non-driver ID issued by the Department of Revenue. Registration deadlines are 27 days before any election for in-person and mail registration, and the fourth Wednesday prior to an election for online registration. First-time voters may need to provide identification such as a driver's license, utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck, or other government document showing name and address. Missouri doesn't require party registration, allowing voters to request any party's ballot in primary elections. Because Sunrise Beach is an unincorporated community, there are no municipal elections for mayor or city council. Residents participate in Camden County-wide elections for county officials including County Commissioners, Sheriff, Assessor, Collector, Recorder of Deeds, Prosecuting Attorney, and other county offices. These positions are elected on partisan ballots during general elections. County Commissioner positions - one Presiding Commissioner and two District Commissioners - serve four-year terms with staggered elections. Voters can locate their assigned polling place through the Missouri Secretary of State's Polling Place Lookup tool at voteroutreach.sos.mo.gov/portal or by contacting the Camden County Clerk. Assignments are based on residential address and precinct boundaries. Polls open at 6:00 AM and close at 7:00 PM on election day. Missouri public election records include voter registration lists (available with restrictions to candidates and political committees), campaign finance reports (searchable at www.mec.mo.gov for state and local candidates), candidate filings, and precinct-level results.Current federal, state, and local election schedules, ballot contests, candidate filings, and certified results for Sunrise voters are published by the Missouri Secretary of State Elections (https://www.sos.mo.gov/elections). Voters will elect state legislators including Missouri State Senate and Missouri House of Representatives members representing Camden County districts. Local school board positions and special district seats such as fire protection district board members may also appear on the ballot. Missouri offers absentee voting by mail for voters who meet specific criteria: absence from their jurisdiction on election day, incapacity or confinement due to illness or disability, religious belief or practice, employment as an election authority, incarceration (if still eligible to vote), or participation in the address confidentiality program. Absentee ballot applications are available from the Camden County Clerk or online through the Secretary of State website. Applications must be received by the second Wednesday prior to the election for mail ballots. Missouri also offers in-person absentee voting (also called "no-excuse" early voting) beginning two weeks before election day at the Camden County Clerk's office.
