Jersey Village voters are served by the Harris County Elections Office, located at 1001 Preston Street, Houston, TX 77002, phone (713) 755-6965, website www.harrisvotes.com. Texas residents can register to vote online through the Texas Secretary of State at www.texas.gov or by submitting a completed voter registration application to the Harris County Voter Registrar. Applications must be postmarked or submitted at least 30 days before an election. Applicants must provide their Texas driver's license number or state ID number, or the last four digits of their social security number. Jersey Village holds municipal elections on the uniform election date in May of odd-numbered years for City Council positions and Mayor. The next municipal election is scheduled for May 2025, with positions on the six-member council (five council members plus mayor) elected on staggered terms. Harris County reported approximately 68% turnout among registered voters in the November 2024 presidential election, with over 1.4 million ballots cast out of approximately 2.1 million registered voters. On November 3, 2026, Jersey Village and Harris County voters will decide contested races that may include U.S. House of Representatives seats (Texas Congressional Districts 7, 18, and portions of other districts serve Harris County), Texas State Senate and House seats, Harris County Judge, Harris County Commissioners Court positions, county-wide offices such as Sheriff, District Attorney, County Clerk, District Clerk, Tax Assessor-Collector, and potentially judgeships and local municipal positions. Texas does not have a Governor's race in 2026 (next in 2026 is for State Legislature and county offices). The U.S. Senate seat held by John Cornyn is up in 2026. Texas allows mail-in (absentee) voting only for specific categories: voters 65 and older, voters with a disability or illness, voters confined in jail but eligible to vote, and voters who will be out of the county during the election period including early voting.
