First-time registrants in Arizona need to provide proof of citizenship, which can include a birth certificate, passport, or Arizona driver's license issued after October 1996. The town conducts its own municipal elections for Town Council (six members) and Mayor, typically held in March of odd-numbered years Council members serve staggered four-year terms. For all other elections, residents vote in Maricopa County and Arizona state precincts. Voters can look up their assigned polling place, view sample ballots, and check registration status at https://voter.azsos.gov/. Arizona maintains extensive public election records including voter registration lists (available for purchase by campaigns and political parties), campaign finance reports searchable through the Secretary of State at https://apps.azsos.gov/apps/election/cfs/, candidate nominating petitions, and precinct-level election results. Maricopa County voters will elect County Supervisor positions, County Sheriff, County Attorney, County Recorder, County Assessor, and various county department heads. Local voters may also decide town ballot measures or municipal matters if placed before them. Arizona is a universal early voting state where any registered voter can request to be placed on the Permanent Early Voting List (PEVL) to automatically receive a mail-in ballot for every election.
