Sheriff & Law Enforcement. Marion County Sheriff's Office is responsible for law enforcement in the unincorporated areas of Marion County and operates Marion County Jail. The office has specialized divisions such as the K-9 Unit and the Community Engagement Team, which work to foster relationships between law enforcement and residents.
Police Departments. Marion County is served by multiple law enforcement agencies, including Marion County Sheriff's Office and the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD).
Law Enforcement & Arrests. Marion County law enforcement services are primarily provided by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD), which was created in 2007 through the merger of the Indianapolis Police Department and Marion County Sheriff's Office law enforcement division. The DNR subsidence insurance page (www.in.gov/dnr/reclamation/mine-subsidence/subsidence-insurance) says the Division of Reclamation fills subsidence holes but does not pay for structural damage, which is what the fund is for.

Business entity filings are searched with the Indiana Secretary of State, Business Services (INBiz). Indiana has no single statewide business license; a business using an assumed name records it with the County Recorder, and many trades need local licenses.
