Mississippi residents can register to vote through several methods: online via the Mississippi Secretary of State's website at www.sos.ms.gov/elections-voting/pages/voter-registration.aspx, by mail using a registration application, or in person at the Circuit Clerk's office. State legislative races for both the Mississippi House of Representatives and Mississippi State Senate will appear for districts covering Washington County. County offices up for election in 2026 will follow the regular cycle for local positions. Mississippi permits absentee voting for those who will be outside their county on election day, have a temporary or permanent physical disability, are 65 or older, are parents or caregivers of someone with a disability, or work as election officials outside their voting precinct. Absentee ballot applications must be requested from the Circuit Clerk's office and submitted by mail or in person, with voted ballots returned by election day.
