Beadle County is located in the southeastern part of South Dakota. It is bordered by Kingsbury County to the north, Spink County to the east, Hand County to the south, and Hyde County to the west. The county seat is Huron, and the largest city is Huron. As of the 2010 United States Census, the population was 17,398.
The county government is organized into three branches: executive, legislative, and judicial. The executive branch is headed by the County Commission, which consists of three commissioners elected by the people of the county. The legislative branch is the County Council, which consists of seven members elected by the people of the county. The judicial branch is the Circuit Court, which is presided over by a judge elected by the people of the county.
