Clark County is located in the southeastern corner of South Dakota and is part of the Sioux Falls Metropolitan Statistical Area. As of the 2010 census, the population was 3,817. The county seat is Clark.
The county was created in 1873 and organized in 1881. It was named for A. C. Clark, a Dakota Territory legislator.
