Imperial County is located in the southeastern corner of California and is the eighth largest county in the state. The county seat is El Centro.

The Central Union High School District serves the cities of El Centro, Brawley, Calexico, Imperial, and Holtville.

The county is also home to several higher education institutions, including Imperial Valley College, San Diego State University Imperial Valley Campus, and University of California, Riverside Imperial Valley Campus.
