Ontario County is located in the Finger Lakes region of Upstate New York, and is part of the Rochester, NY Metropolitan Statistical Area. Its county seat is Canandaigua.
The Ontario County Board of Supervisors is composed of 25 representatives from the towns and villages of the county. These elected representatives are part of the decision-making body of the county government, setting laws and policies that guide how the county is managed. The Board has legislative powers and is responsible for enacting all legislation. The Board is chaired by the Chair of the Board of Supervisors, who is elected each year by the board.
