Voters must be U.S. citizens, Florida residents, at least 18 years old by Election Day, and not adjudicated mentally incapacitated or convicted of a felony (unless rights have been restored). North Miami Beach holds municipal elections for Mayor and City Council seats; the city uses a council-manager form of government with five council members (four district seats and one at-large) plus the mayor elected citywide. Municipal elections are typically held in November of odd-numbered years, with the next regular municipal election scheduled for November 2025. In the November 2024 presidential election, Miami-Dade County reported approximately 66% voter turnout with over 930,000 ballots cast from 1.4 million registered voters. Looking ahead to November 3, 2026, North Miami Beach and Miami-Dade County voters will decide several significant races: the Florida Governor and Cabinet officers (Governor, Attorney General, Chief Financial Officer, Commissioner of Agriculture) are all up for election; all 160 Florida House seats and 20 Florida Senate seats (half the chamber) will be contested; Miami-Dade County will elect constitutional officers including Sheriff (a restored elected position as of 2024), Property Appraiser, Tax Collector, and County Commission seats in certain districts; and the U.S. Senate seat currently held by Marco Rubio will be on the ballot (his term expires January 2029). Additionally, depending on redistricting, multiple U.S. House seats covering parts of Miami-Dade will be decided.
