Legal notices, public notices and obituaries in Florida
Florida law requires foreclosure sale notices, notices to creditors in probate, fictitious name registrations, name changes, tax deed sales and county and city hearings to run in a newspaper of general circulation in the county, and the Florida Press Association collects every one of them in a statewide search that includes the county, the newspaper and the dates of publication. Obituaries run in every daily and most weeklies. Florida's clerks of court post case records online, so a name in newspaper court coverage can be checked against the docket the same day.
