Same-day registration is available during the early voting period and on Election Day at voter service centers. Since the community has no incorporated municipal government, there are no city elections, residents vote only in county, state, and federal contests. Gunnison County operates as a mail ballot county, automatically sending ballots to all registered voters approximately 22 days before each election. Ballots can be returned by mail (postmarked by Election Day) or placed in secure 24-hour drop boxes located throughout Gunnison County, including in Gunnison. Residents can also vote in person during early voting or on Election Day at Gunnison County Voter Service Centers; locations and hours are posted at www.gunnisonco.gov/clerk-recorder before each election. Colorado provides a polling place and ballot tracking tool at www.govotecolorado.gov where voters can verify registration, track their mail ballot, and find the nearest drop box or voter service center. Public election records in Colorado include voter registration lists (available to candidates, parties, and issue committees under § 1-2-227), campaign finance disclosures searchable at www.tracer.sos.colorado.gov, candidate filings, and precinct-level results published after certification.), all state House seats (terms are two years), half of the state Senate (four-year staggered terms), various Gunnison County offices including County Commissioners (staggered terms), possibly Sheriff, Clerk and Recorder, Assessor, Treasurer, Coroner, and Surveyor depending on term expirations, as well as judicial retention questions and any local ballot measures or special district elections.
