Overview
The Denver Post is Colorado's largest newspaper by circulation and the main paper for state government and the Denver courts, and the Colorado Sun, founded by former Post journalists, covers state politics online. The Gazette in Colorado Springs, the Boulder Daily Camera, the Pueblo Chieftain, the Fort Collins Coloradoan, the Greeley Tribune, the Grand Junction Daily Sentinel, the Durango Herald, the Longmont Times-Call and the Loveland Reporter-Herald cover their regions, and mountain town weeklies such as the Aspen Times and the Summit Daily News cover the resort counties.
Colorado newspapers publish the legal notices required for foreclosures, estates and government actions, carry obituaries for 64 counties, and preserve court coverage that the state's court records system only summarizes.

Legal notices, public notices and obituaries in Colorado
Colorado law requires public trustee foreclosure notices, notices to creditors in probate, name changes, tax lien sales and county and municipal notices to run in a legal newspaper in the county, and the Colorado Press Association collects them in a statewide search. Obituaries run in the Post and the regional dailies, and the Denver Public Library keeps an obituary index for older Denver deaths. Newspaper court coverage in Colorado pairs with the state judicial branch's docket search, which lists cases by name but not the story behind them.
