Legal notices, public notices and obituaries in Pennsylvania
Pennsylvania law requires sheriff's sale notices for foreclosures, estate notices to creditors, name changes, fictitious name registrations, tax sales and county and municipal notices to be published in a newspaper of general circulation in the county and often also in the county's legal journal, and the Pennsylvania NewsMedia Association collects the newspaper notices in a statewide search. Most Pennsylvania dailies and weeklies run obituaries, and the big city libraries keep obituary indexes. Court coverage pairs with the free dockets on the Unified Judicial System web portal.
